Topic: "The Internet: Today's Evolution or Tomorrow's Menace?"
Who: Youth under the age of 19 as of December 31 of the current school year (December 31, 2009)
The Essay Contest is sponsored by Optimist International to give young people the opportunity to write about their own opinions regarding the world in which they live. The approach can encompass a young person’s personal experience, the experience of their country or a more historical perspective. In additional to developing skills for written expression, participants also have the opportunity to win a college scholarship of up to $6,000!
Entry Deadline
Entries must be received no later than February 19, 2010 at the following address:

Hand deliveries to club members will not be accepted. Entries arriving after the deadline will not be accepted.
Protests
Any protest in the conduct of any club or district contest must be made immediately. The Essay Contest Chair will decide all protests in conformity with the contest rules. The decision of the contest chair is final, and no higher appeals will be recognized.
